| The Story of Kingdom Hearts |

There are many worlds, but they all share the same sky. One sky, one destiny...
A young boy named Sora, and his two friends, Riku and Kairi, awaken on any normal day on Destiny Islands, their home. Knowing that there are other worlds out there, they are building a raft to visit them. It goes well, and the raft is almost complete. But something evil is brewing on the tiny island...
That day, Sora ventures in an old secret cave that he and his friends used to visit. A hooded figure is seen next to a mysterious door and says that Sora understands so little, and that if you know nothing, you can understand nothing. He says that Destiny Islands is tied to the darkness and that it soon will be compleatly eclipsed. Sora disreguards this "warning" and believes nothing is going to happen. But his assumption proves inccorrect. That night, strange creatures called Heartless emerge from the shadows and engulf the island. Riku mentions a "Keyblade" to Sora before being engulfed by the shadows. And Kairi dissapears compleatly from Sora. Then he is thrown from his own world, Sora is going to have to find his friends with two unlikely helpers...
At a place called Disney Castle, the royal guard, Goofy, and the royal mage, Donald, being jostled from their duties by a note that King Mickey left behind. It mentions that the stars are going out, one by one, and that he went to search for the 'key'. Donald and Goofy go at his request to search for this 'key' and the King himself. Traveling into different worlds with their Gummi ship, Donald and Goofy set out to find this 'key'.
Sora is thrown to Traverse Town, where people who have lost their world to the Heartless reign. But he soon finds out that the Keyblade he holds may be the key to sort this out. When Traverse Town is infected with Heartless, Donald, Goofy, and Sora meet up to defeat the Heartless, and seeing that the Keyblade is the 'key' the King talked about, they set off to find their missing comrades together.

Could it really be done, a game having Final Fantasy Characters and Disney Characters all living together in a world. Still be a great game? Yes, it was done. Kingdom Hearts takes both the characters from the Final Fantasy games and puts them with the Disney Characters and worlds we all grew up with.
How could it be done? First off, they needed Disney Company to allow something this big, Disney Interactive took control and helped Squaresoft out alot, showing them how it could be done, allowing more characters. This all helped to lead to the game.
Tetsuya Nomura was the one who head up this game, he was the Director and Concept Designer of the game. Tetsuya Nomura was the one who did most of the recent Final Fantasy games, including Final Fantasy VII. Alot of his characters that he made are in Kingdom Hearts. If it wasn't for Tetsuya Nomura, Squaresoft and Disney, Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be and this great game would not be.

| "An unlikely pair, or a sure-fire hit? The Disney RPG is here..." |
"Kingdom Hearts is great, largely because it successfully captures the spirit both of Square and Disney in a single game.

"We're not sure which is more improbable: the fact that Square actually made an action/RPG featuring Disney characters, or the fact that the result is a complete success." |
